Yes, it is proving rather difficult to find anyone in the UK that can help. If your contact can help that would be great. I tried to message you on LinkedIn, unfortunately, it appears that I can only message you if I am a 'contact'. I have made a contact request. Are you looking for the hardware manual or the software manual. That instrument ran a software package called Win-IR which probably will not run on a modern (new than Win95) computer. Cite 5th Nov, 2019 Murray Ford The Open University (UK) Hi Ellen, Thank you for getting back to me.I'm looking for the hardware manual. The computer is running WinIR fine with all the help, search, index files etc. available. Everything seams good to go but when I try to do a scan I get this message. OK you don't need the manual for that. Either the laser is dying or dead or the interlock is not tight enough to make the laser turn on. When you do not have a laser signal, the instrument cannot scan since it collects data based on fringe counting. If you open up the spectrometer and defeat the laser interlock, you can see either that the laser is not firing or that it is going to look very weak. Generally this is not something you can fix yourself. That business is now owned by Agilent. I would suspect that there is no one in the UK who knows what to do with that. There is a person here in the US who can probably help. I am not sure how to reply privately since I don't want to blast his contact info all over the web. Can you contact me on LinkedIn. Cite Can you help by adding an answer. Question 5 answers Asked 26th Jul, 2020 Sarjana Yadav Since vibrational modes of a molecule also lie in IR region, can focussing IR light on a molecule change its vibrational modes.

Question 5 answers Asked 5th Feb, 2020 Elizabeth Polido I am trying to compare two products in FTIR hoping to see some composition differences in them. The only remarkable difference I see in the FTIR spectra is the relative intensity of the 2950 cm-1 peak (which I assume comes from asymmetric stretching of C-H in alkane). The normalized spectra shows that for the same intensity of the 2923 and 2850 cm-1 peaks, the 2950 cm-1 peak is much lower for one of the products, but I have difficulty understanding what this means in terms of composition or structure. What is the meaning of having less asymmetrical vibrations in a compound. Thanks a lot in advance. In the process a user makes a choice on a screw to be tuned, finds an appropriate label above the bars and locates a bar which should be minimized to zero, similarly in to TrimWare procedure. All tuning elements and their distances from reference settings are displayed simultaneously. An algorithm generates detuning errors for each tuning element (frequency, coupling, cross-coupling) concurrently.

Every new device type requires a new procedure describing a filter with its basic parameters. This process is crucial for filter tuning quality at a later stage. To collect samples, a precisely tuned filter template is required, the so called “golden filter”, with the best possible margins between the characteristics and the tuning limits. This procedure is performed only once, unless some major changes in the filter construction have been made. Based on the information gathered from the template filter, inverse models are generated, which are later used in the post-production filter tuning. The term of filter model building process depends on the filter complexity and computer computational power; it can range between a few minutes to hours. After all filter models have been built, green check marks should appear signaling that the project is ready to be used in the tuning process. The procedure is much faster than manual detuning and no golden filters are needed. The only condition required is to collect data of a certain filter which describes its equivalent circuit model. In this version of FTS, parameters of each filter element are located in a special, earlier generated file, which can be next loaded into FTS. After obtaining such information, a set of detuned characteristics corresponding accurately to the real, measured parameters can be generated. At the next step the filter model, as in standard procedure, can be built and used to tune the filter. It is very important for the analyzed reflection signal to be measured from this port. Tuning direction is opposite to detuning direction used in customization process. The procedure continues until all screws are fitted. In many cases, a filter can by fully tuned after a single tuning iteration. An operator can tune only one screw at a time.

Forest 1.0 out of 5 stars You'll be doing a lot of wiping up all the time. The worst thing about this coffee maker is that the pour spout dribbles all over the place no matter how carefully you try to pour it. I've tried pouring slow, fast, with the lid, without it. Nothing helps. So expect that after every cup you'll need to wipe up the countertop. Also, the lid to the compartment where you add the cold water before brewing is awkwardly placed so you'll end up getting water on the top of the maker when you fill it up. Then you lift the other section to add the coffee and all that water goes dripping off the back. Other things I don't like about this maker: The button on the pot lid that you press to pour your coffee is hard to press and at an uncomfortable angle.

The fresh brew timer helpfully lets you know how long it's been since your coffee was brewed. For the thermal carafe, it's a bit hard to pour out the absolute last drop - you may have to remove the lid to really empty it.Click here for more details. The main feature I wanted on this was the thermal carafe so I could take it out and enjoy coffee on the deck in the mornings. It was just what I wanted for a while. Note that this coffee maker is used at a second residence and does not see near the use my day-to-day coffee maker does (which is a Cuisinart that has been great - not thermal though). The first signs of trouble about 4 months in were a couple of times it overflowed all over the counter while brewing. Since I had purchased a gold filter to eliminate paper, I had to pull it out each time to clean. No worries, I just ensured I seated it correctly and it was fine. I would press start and it began brewing as normal. But when I came back later it had stopped before completing. It would require me to press start again (sometimes multiple times) and it would eventually make a full pot. That sealed it's fate as a landfill object (too late to return and I was not about to waste money on repairs). It was a great concept but failed to endure relatively light usage. I was very disappointed and am now looking for a replacement thermal coffee maker. With absolutely no coding knowledge, anyone can create a stunning website using Jimdo's drag-and-drop interface. Or cooler? Or is pumped thru at a different rate. I'm really interested in your comments. I don't have a bunch of cash to spend, but if you folks think a better deal is out there than this one, please share. I've been a long time browser of this forum and have learned a great deal about what I should be looking for, but some of those specifications won't fit into my wallet. Thanks!

I don't even have arthritis and it makes my thumb hurt. If you have arthritis, forget it. The coffee also comes out really slowly with the lid on so, out of impatience, I often end up removing the lid to pour the coffee. Unfortunately, doing so just makes the dribble problem even worse. The coffee is never very hot. It says it's a 10 cup capacity but it really only makes about 8 cups. Not sure if that's because the measurement is wrong or because it loses that much water from evaporation during brewing. In any case, you'll need to make a cup or two more than you think in order to get the right amount. So after just one month of using this coffee maker I'm in the market for a new and better one. This one is overpriced for as poorly designed as it is. I've had better coffee makers at half the price.I was surprised by all the bad reviews. I think it's a great pot of coffee. Here is the rundown. GOOD: Easy to program. A real no-brainer. One button to set timer, one button to start. Also a strength button, which I don't really use. Good hot coffee. I have never had to warm up the carafe and my coffee is plenty hot. Insulated carafe means no hotplate to burn your coffee and warm up your house. Carafe can just go in the dishwasher. Easy 'clean' function keeps the funk out. BAD: The lid on the carafe has lots of little nooks, cranies and holes that get filled with coffee and are hard to clean. The annoying loud beep when the coffee is done. What idiot thought that up. The last thing I want at 5AM is my coffee maker beeping (LOUDLY) at me. Push button lid. Now, I don't think it takes any effort to push the button, but it seems to confuse my guests. Every insulated carafe I have ever used (even at IHOP) has a push button, so I don't know why it's so difficult for them. Anyway, I really do love this coffee maker and I have never had a problem with cold coffee, water all over my counter or the clock not functioning.

MoreGooder I can't answer your main question about the brew strength of the Mr. Coffee FTTX85. One thing that's important to know when buying a drip machine is that coffee taste is best when the brew water is about 200 degrees F. As far as I know, none of the machines you see in stores meet that standard. They tend to brew at about 185 degrees. If you're concerned about too much chlorine, you could either let your water sit out for about 10 minutes until the chlorine evaporates, or you could get a Brita pitcher. That's what I use for my espresso machine, and it's worked fine. Another option to check out is French press and invest in a good grinder. But that's another issue.I've read the reviews of the Technivorms, and I already lust after them. The only problem I have with their design is that the delivery of the hot water to the grounds doesn't fully encompass the grounds. Yes, they have that marginally exceptable 9 hole replacement head, but I think they could do better. That's why I want to know what the brew strength button really does. I bet you're right, though, in assuming that the water still reaches the grounds at about 185F. It probably pumps the water through faster. But then again, isn't that part of the equation. Speed and temp both play a roll, right. If the water is delivered too slowly, then you get the bitterness of the grounds. If the water is delivered quickly, it might be weaker, but you still have the desirable notes of the coffee sans bitterness. Too weak then? Just use more coffee. MoreGooder Yes, they have that marginally exceptable 9 hole replacement head, but I think they could do better. Posted November 6, 2005 link This is not true. Having both the single and 9 hole pipe, they both saturate the grounds fine. I and others on Coffeegeek find no difference between the two pipes. Check out: click here As of August, all TV's come with the 9 hole pipe. Read what Tom said about that the single-hole pipe doing a good job.

The TV may end up being your very last coffeemaker. The Presto Scandi is another good coffeemaker to consider, although not constructed as well as the TV's. Gerry My KitchenAid Clasic had a brew strength knob. After some experimentation, I discovered that as it was turned away from the strongest setting, an increasing amount of water was channeled down a recess in the back of the filter housing, thereby bypassing the grounds completely. Needless to say, we never moved it away from the strongest setting. I'm seriously thinking about the Technivorm KBTS (thermal carafe version), but I read a review here that suggested that the construction was low quality. I haven't seen any other reviews than that one. Then again, the coffee maker I have right now is pretty cheaply made so, I can't imagine this Technivorm product being a step down. I'm saving my pennies for this thing. It's gonna take a while though. Thanks again, MoreGooder No SEO style postings will be tolerated. SEO related posts will result in immediate ban from CoffeeGeek. Decodes and displays multiple protocol layers of multiple data frames simultaneously. Detects and displays protocol errors (in red) in real time. The Wi-Fi Option pin-points coexistence issues and payload efficiency. The Frontline Bluetooth protocol analyzer, even though it is also decoding the Baseband, is orientated to the software development of the higher layers. Baseband is of minor importance there, all efforts go to the software application around this chip and that s the field of main application and strength of Frontline s Bluetooth protocol analyzer. For application debugging, FTS4BT is used as a tool to figure out what is going on with the messaging in real time. FTS4BT is being used also for verification. Bluetooth SIG (Special Interest Group) designates specialized organisations as a BQB (Bluetooth Qualification Body). In order to qualify a Bluetooth product (this could be a chip, mobile phone, PDA etc.) the BQB will verify the received documentation (they call this evidence) that shows that the product functions and conforms to the Bluetooth spec. FTS4BT is used to produce this documentation by capturing the traffic and then prepare the evidence for the BQB. FTS4BT s architecture enables quick release of new decoders as protocols are announced by the Bluetooth SIG. The user can rapidly develop and seamlessly integrate Vendor Extension decoders using the built-in FrameDecoderTM feature. These two elements are connected by the HCI (host controller interface). The controller with the LMP (layer3 link manager protocol) incorporates the Baseband and Physical layer (Bluetooth -radio). Many Bluetooth devices give physical access to the HCI (three wires) e. g. via a serial interface. 3 4 Bluetooth device with access to serial Host controller Interface HCI Embedded Bluetooth Device Link Mgr. ECDH provides a very high degree of strength against passive eavesdropping attacks. Active eavesdropping, also known as man-in-the-middle (MITM) attack, is protected with a 1 in chance with simple pairing. 5 6 Decryption process Version 2.0 FTS4BT must compute the same link key being used by the devices being sniffed. After FTS4BT has calculated the link key, it is capable to decrypt data successfully. Version 2.1 Secure simple pairing messages are captured but FTS4BT cannot compute the ECDH link key from the data in the messages. This means that any encrypted data will not be automatically decrypted. Bluetooth SIG recommends to the chip producer to implement a debug mode, which can be activated just for error checking.this is unsecure but allows FTS4BT and other equipment to decode the protocols. Alternatively, FTS4BT can decrypt messages if the link key is provided by the user during the capture process. Multiple Protocol Layers within multiple data frames Protocol Navigator Window: presents decodes of multiple protocol layers within multiple data frames. Simplifies the process of understanding the complex relationships between multiple data frames and the protocol layers that comprise the frames. 1. Protocol Selection Pane: enables you to view only data frames that contain selected Bluetooth protocols. 2. Protocol Suppression Pane: enables you to suppress selected protocols within the Bluetooth data frames. 3. Frame Filter Pane: enables you to select predefined filter conditions that include or exclude specific data frame types. 4. Protocol Decode Pane: displays one or more decoded data frames, with text-based explanations of the various protocol elements. 6 7 User Data, from the frame level to the bit level Frame Display Window: presents various views of user data, from the frame level to the bit level, including a detailed decode of a user-selected data frame using a layer-by-layer tree structure.

Radio HCI Applications higher layer RFCOMM SDP L2CAP Serial HCI air sniffing via the USB dongle FTS4BT protocol analyzer software decoding simultaneously in real time FTS4BT can be connected to the HCI of the device via a RS232 port, via USB or virtually to analyze commands and events between these Bluetooth elements. At this point it can be checked if the application profiles and the serial emulation to the L2CAP (logical link control and adaption protocol) inside of one Bluetooth device is correct. In an active Piconet, where at least two Bluetooth devices (one master, one or more slaves) interact with each other, the USB dongle is air sniffing the communication between those. This analysis is required to check interoperability of Bluetooth devices from different vendors and to troubleshoot problems by detailed protocol decoding. 4 5 Pairing Bluetooth devices on an encrypted link share a common link key in order to exchange encrypted data. The pairing process is the sequence of events used to create this key, as shown in the Link Manager Protocol below. The slave acknowledges that it has accepted the number in frame 8. In frames 9 and 10, the combination keys are passed between master and slave. This is the random number that has been encrypted by using the calculated link key. When the encryption mode request is accepted, encrypted data can start to be sent. Simple Pairing in BT version 2.1 The goal of simple pairing is to simplify the pairing process for the user and at the same time ensure the security in Bluetooth wireless technology. The maximum security in version EDR or earlier is achieved when applying the 16 character alphanumeric PIN. The difficulty for an attacker to calculate the secret link key is the same for simple pairing but easier for the user as the protection with simple pairing is independent of the length of the PIN code. Simple pairing uses Elliptic Curve Diffie-Hellman (ECDH) public key cryptography.

Preface xv 16 Preface xvi Stratus ftserver System Administrator s Guide for the Linux Operating System (R003L) 17 Chapter 1 Introduction to ftserver System Administration1- ftserver 2600, 4500, and 6300 systems running a supported Linux distribution together with ftserver System Software (ftsss) for the Linux Operating System operate as fault-tolerant servers. Every ftserver system uses replicated, fault-tolerant hardware to eliminate single points of failure and protect data integrity in all areas of data handling. The ActiveService Network (ASN) is an optional remote-monitoring system managed by Stratus. ASN architecture built into ftserver systems supports fault-tolerant features with self-checking hardware and onboard diagnostics to detect, isolate, and report potential problems before they affect server operation. NOTE Installation of ftsss and the Linux operating system is a bare-metal installation. You cannot install the fault-tolerant software in a guest operating system in a virtualized environment. For virtualization on ftserver systems, install VMware ESX TM and ftsss for VMware vsphere TM.

For more information, see This introduction to ftserver system administration contains the following topics: Overview of System and Network Administration on page 1-2 Unsupported Linux Tools on page 1-4 System Documentation on page 1-4 Additional Documentation and Resources on page 1-5 Acronyms and Terms on page 1-5 Introduction to ftserver System Administration 1-1 18 Overview of System and Network Administration Overview of System and Network Administration This section presents an overview of the following commonly performed system administrative tasks: ftserver System Terminology Managing Data Storage Devices on page 1-2 Using Stratus Fault-Tolerant Tools and Software on page 1-3 Managing the System With SNMP on page 1-3 Managing Virtual Technician Modules (VTMs) on page 1-3 Troubleshooting ftserver Systems on page 1-4 To perform most of the documented procedures, you need root or superuser privileges. The procedures do not always specify when you need to have root privileges. NOTE The terms upper and lower refer to the location of the enclosures in a rack-mounted system. Managing Data Storage Devices In addition to disk storage, your system supports DVD drives, tape drives, and USB storage devices. Chapter 3, Managing Data Storage Devices, provides a discussion of these devices and the information needed to manage them. 1-2 Stratus ftserver System Administrator s Guide for the Linux Operating System (R003L) 19 Overview of System and Network Administration Using Stratus Fault-Tolerant Tools and Software While you can use standard Linux tools to perform many system administration tasks on your ftserver systems, some tasks on fault-tolerant systems require specialized supporting utilities. For additional information, see the Stratus ftserver System Software: Installation for Linux Systems (R013L). Managing the System With SNMP ftsss includes optional utilities to allow remote support of your ftserver system.

These include an extensible network administration framework and a server-monitoring utility that provides notification services. Chapter 5, Simple Network Management Using Net-SNMP and ftlsnmp, discusses the configuration and use of the optional ftlsnmp package implementing Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) for managing network objects. The ftlsnmp package is typically installed with ftsss. Managing Virtual Technician Modules (VTMs) The Virtual Technician Module (VTM) console is a Web-based console that enables you, the CAC, or your authorized Stratus service representative to control, monitor, and diagnose the system. You can use the VTM console to control the host system even if the host system s operating system is unresponsive and its network connections are lost. Stratus ftserver System Software: Installation for Linux Systems (R013L) discusses how to configure VTMs for remote access. NOTE Starting with ftserver 2600, 4500, and 6300 systems, VTM functionality is integrated into the baseboard management controller (BMC). In previous ftserver Introduction to ftserver System Administration 1-3 20 Unsupported Linux Tools system models, the VTM and BMC were separate hardware components. Troubleshooting ftserver Systems Problem identification, system and application diagnostics, and system configuration to resolve problems with ftserver systems are essential troubleshooting tasks. Chapter 6 discusses system features and procedures to assist you in troubleshooting ftserver systems. Unsupported Linux Tools. CAUTION Avoid using the Linux sysreport command, a script that collects information about system execution. The sysreport command makes the system operate in simplex mode by taking a component offline for some time, eliminating fault-tolerant operation before bringing the component back online.!

CAUTION Enabling and using the Sysrq tool causes system interruptions, because its use results in the suspension of kernel processes, which is interpreted by ftsss as a system hang. System Documentation The system documentation is available on the StrataDOC Web site and on a StrataDOC CD that was distributed with the system or ftsss upgrade. The documentation opens in a Web browser. 1-4 Stratus ftserver System Administrator s Guide for the Linux Operating System (R003L) 21 Additional Documentation and Resources Additional Documentation and Resources The following resources provide additional information that may be helpful to you in administering your ftserver system. Red Hat Enterprise Linux Documentation for the Red Hat Linux operating system is available at Stratus ftserver System Documentation The StrataDOC media provided with your system contains the ftserver system documentation for systems that run the Linux operating system. This documentation is provided in Adobe Acrobat Portable Document Format (PDF) and HTML format for viewing and printing. This manual occasionally refers to other documentation that is specific to your particular ftserver system. Table 1-1 lists the system-specific documentation, all of which is available on the ftserver StrataDOC media. Table 1-1. ftserver System-Specific Documentation Manual Stratus ftserver 2600, 4500, and 6300 Systems: Installation Guide (R640) Stratus ftserver 2600, 4500, and 6300 Systems: Operation and Maintenance Guide (R639) Description Describes how to install and set up your ftserver 2600, 4500, and 6300 system hardware. Documents how to operate, diagnose, and maintain your ftserver 2600, 4500, and 6300 system. It explains how to remove and replace the CRUs and how to interpret system operational status based on the state of the light-emitting diodes (LEDs). Acronyms and Terms Table 1-2 lists the acronyms and some terms used to describe tasks for administering ftserver systems. Table 1-2.

Often, the device is recognized and automatically supported, requiring no direct configuration. While the operating system may recognize legacy devices, ftsss does not support them as fault-tolerant devices. To be supported as a fault-tolerant device, a device must have a special hardened driver that supports surprise removal and fault management by ftsss. Some system components, such as data storage, may require additional configuration.
